dc.description.abstractA eleição de bens culturais com atribuição de valores referentes à memória, à história, ou à identidade de uma nação, ou de determinado grupo, tem tido, em alguns casos, como efeito, a negligência desses mesmos valores para outros grupos envolvidos com esses objetos, tendo por consequência a transformação do patrimônio em campo de disputa, refletindo sobremaneira na gestão da conservação desses bens culturais. A Serra da Barriga, objeto do presente trabalho, é um exemplo de como o patrimônio se revelou como um campo de disputa a partir do reconhecimento de uma única identidade associada ao bem cultural. De terra da liberdade para o Movimento Negro, o monumento simboliza, atualmente, exatamente o contrário para os campesinos que foram tolhidos de exercerem sua identidade após o reconhecimento do bem cultural pelo Estado brasileiro, enquanto é negligenciada, pelos instrumentos de reconhecimento, a importante participação dos indígenas em todo processo de construção do valor histórico e pré-histórico da Serra. Compreendendo a valoração dos bens culturais como sendo uma atribuição dos sujeitos, não sendo os valores intrínsecos aos objetos, busquei através de investigação documental e entrevistas aos grupos sociais envolvidos com o bem cultural, campesinos e indígenas, quais valores estão encerrados no bem segundo as suas perspectivas. E, a partir da análise dos instrumentos de proteção incidentes sobre o bem, compreendi que se faz necessário lançar mão de instrumentos ou políticas capazes de abarcar múltiplas identidades, característica da formação da sociedade brasileira. Apresentei como proposta ao cenário de conflito que identifiquei no objeto de estudo, a Declaração de Significância como ferramenta de auxílio na gestão de bens culturais capaz de abarcar a multiplicidade de valores encerrada no bem, conforme definido na ‘Australia ICOMOS Burra Charter, 1999’, utilizada pela UNESCO nos processos de inclusão de bens na lista do Patrimônio Mundial.
dc.description.abstractenHeritage as a field of dispute: Serra da Barriga and the fragmentation of instruments for the recognition of cultural goods Abstract: The election of cultural assets with attribution of values referring to the memory, history, identity of a nation or of a certain group had in some cases, the neglect of these same values for other groups involved with these objects, resulting in the transformation of heritage into a field of dispute, reflecting greatly on the management of the conservation of these cultural assets. Serra da Barriga, the object of the present work, is an example of how heritage was revealed as a field of dispute from the recognition of a single identity associated with the cultural asset. From the land of freedom to the Black Movement, the monument currently symbolizes exactly the opposite for the peasants who were hampered from exercising their identity after the recognition of the cultural good by the Brazilian State, while the important participation is neglected by the instruments of recognition of indigenous people in the whole process of building the historic and prehistoric value of the Serra da Barriga. Understanding the valuation of cultural goods as an attribution of the subjects, not being the values intrinsic to the objects, I searched through documentary investigation and interviews with the social groups involved with the cultural good, peasants and indigenous people which values are locked in the good according to their perspectives and from the analysis of the protection instruments are good, I understood that it is necessary to use instruments or policies capable of encompassing multiple identities, characteristic of the formation of Brazilian society. I presented as a proposal to the conflict scenario that I identified in the object of study, the declaration of significance as an aid tool in the management of cultural assets capable of encompassing the multiplicity of values closed in the property as defined in 'Australia ICOMOS Burra Charter 1999' used by UNESCO in the process of including goods on the World Heritage list.
