dc.description.abstractEsse trabalho foi realizado no âmbito do Programa de Mestrado Profissional em Preservação do Patrimônio Cultural, oferecido pelo Iphan. Traz um histórico da relação estabelecida entre o Iphan e expressões culturais afro-brasileiras, bem como as políticas de patrimonialização daí resultantes. Desenvolveu-se a observação analítica desse processo, com destaque para os Registros do Ofício das Baianas de Acarajé e de duas expressões da Capoeira – Roda de Capoeira e Oficio os Mestres de Capoeira como patrimônio cultural brasileiro de natureza imaterial. Com base em pesquisa documental e de campo buscou-se as narrativas que justificaram o reconhecimento desses bens culturais como patrimônio e as dinâmicas caracterizaram as medidas de salvaguarda realizadas após o Registro. Esse exercício demonstrou a aproximação entre as narrativas produzidas pelo Iphan e a perspectiva de reparação em relação à cultura afro-brasileira e sua influência na elaboração das diretrizes de salvaguarda desses bens culturais.
dc.description.abstractenThis study was produced within the ambit of the Professional Masters Programme in Preservation of the Cultural Heritage, offered by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage-IPHAN. It traces the history of the relationship established between IPHAN and afro-Brazilian cultural expressions; and of the resultant policies. It was developed using analytical observation of this process, highlighting the "Registry" (declaration) of Craft of Baianas de Acarajé, Craft Master of Capoeira and of the Roda de Capoeira as Brazilian Intangible Cultural Heritage. The analysis was based upon both documental research and fieldwork, while it also sought out an understanding of the narratives constructed by IPHAN to justify the recognition of these cultural elements as heritage, and the dynamics which characterise safeguarding measures adopted subsequent to this recognition. This exercise demonstrated the convergence between narratives of IPHAN and the perspective of reparation of history regarding the oppression of the afro-descent social group and its culture, as much as the absence of this perspective in the elaboration of the directives for safeguarding of the analysed cultural elements.
