dc.description.abstractNicolau Alekhine (1893 – 1988), brasileiro naturalizado de origem russa, atuou como perito, pesquisador, engenheiro, topógrafo em diversos órgãos da administração pública municipal de São Paulo. Especializou-se nas pesquisas sobre a genealogia de terras da capital e sua organização fundiária, reunindo em torno desta temática, um vasto arquivo particular. Em abril de 1964, Alekhine foi preso por se envolver com grilagem de terrenos da União em São Paulo culminando com a apreensão de seu arquivo pelos militares. Em 1965 o arquivo foi doado para a Superintendência do Iphan em São Paulo através da solicitação de Luís Saia, então diretor da unidade. Para a transferência, a justificativa utilizada pelo chefe da regional era de que os documentos seriam ‘indispensáveis’ para o estudo e proteção do patrimônio. Nesse sentido, a pesquisa tem como objeto o Fundo Nicolau Alekhine pertencente ao Arquivo do Iphan-SP. Através da etnografia, busca trazer luz às relações entre o titular Nicolau Alekhine e seu arquivo, problematizando episódios da trajetória de ambos e refletindo sobre as práticas de acúmulo, institucionalização, intervenção e acesso.
dc.description.abstractenNicolau Alekhine (1893 - 1988), a Brazilian of Russian descent, worked as a specialist researcher, engineer and topographer at many public administration offices in the city of São Paulo. Specialized in the research of the genealogy of the capital’s lands and its organization, he collected a vast private archive around the topic. In April of 1964, Alekhine was arrested for getting involved with a land grab of the State in São Paulo, which culminated in the apprehension of his archive by the military. In 1965, the archive was donated to the Superintendence of Iphan in São Paulo through the request of Luis Saia, then director of the unit. The justification given by the regional chief for the transfer was that the files were essential to the study and protection of the patrimony. In that sense, the object of the research is the Nicolau Alekhine Fund, which belongs to the Iphan-SP Archive. Through ethnography, it is intended to shed some light on the connections between Nicolau Alekhine and his archive, putting in doubt episodes of both trajectories and reflecting on the practices of accumulation, institutionalization, intervention and access.
