dc.description.abstractEste trabalho analisa o processo de tombamento do centro histórico de Porto Nacional, umas das cidades surgidas a partir da mineração no Brasil central — mais especificamente no final do século XVIII, no atual Estado do Tocantins, antigo norte de Goiás — e tombada como patrimônio cultural pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional em 2008. Buscamos identificar os valores envolvidos nesse processo para contribuir com a discussão atual sobre as práticas de preservação do espaço urbano no que tange aos projetos de intervenção pelo poder público e à preservação das referências culturais a partir da noção conceitual de lugar. A argumentação desenvolvida nesta dissertação será apresentada em três partes: de uma breve caracterização da transformação política que envolveu o campo do patrimônio em relação aos centros históricos e sua apropriação para o consumo visual, que aponta para o surgimento de espaços urbanos estritamente direcionados ao turismo, passaremos a uma reflexão sobre o conceito de lugar como referência cultural, associando-o a nossa ideia de que os valores materiais e imateriais são indissociáveis, e, a seguir, trataremos do seu significado e da importância da inserção desse conceito nos processos de intervenção em centros históricos a partir do estudo no centro histórico de Porto Nacional.
dc.description.abstractenThis study analyzes the listed process of the historic center of Porto Nacional, one of the towns arose from mining in central Brazil - more specifically in the late eighteenth century, in the current state of Tocantins, ancient northern Goiás - and listed as cultural heritage by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage in 2008. We seek to identify values involved in this process to contribute to the current discussion on the practical preservation of urban space in relation to projects of intervention by the government and preservation of cultural references from the conceptual notion of place. The argument developed in this dissertation will be presented in three parts: a brief characterization of the political transformation that involved the field of equity in relation to historical places and their suitability for the visual consumption, pointing to the emergence of urban spaces strictly targeted to tourism, turn to a reflection on the concept of place as a cultural reference, associating it with our idea that the tangible and intangible valuesare inseparable, and then will discuss the meaning and importance of inclusion of this concept in the process of intervention historical centers study from the historic center of Porto Nacional.
